Winter Weather & Averages
The winter weather in Cabo Roig is mild in comparison to some of the other locations on the Costa Blanca. The winter months are December, January and February. The temperature never drops much below 8 Celsius during the day. There is a lot more rainfall as one may expec during winter. January has more days of rain than any other month.
Weather in Cabo Roig in October
The weather in Cabo Roig in October is unpredictable. There are not as many days of rain as January but the precipitation is over treble. The reason for the high precipitation is the weather phenomenon known as a “Gota Fria” or “Cold Drop”.
Cold air from the west and north meets the hot air of the eastern coast. The western air comes from the Atlantic, the northern air from the Pyrenees mountains. This phenomenon only happens on the eastern coast of Spain. The clash of the cold and hot air can be devastating.
This is by no means a yearly event. A Gota Fria, when it arrives will yield hurricane strength winds, heavy rain and large hail stones. This weather can several days and bring close to a years worth of rain in that time.
November sees the temperature dropping with an average of 15 – 18 Celsius. There are more days of rain than October but the precipitation levels are much lower. The evening temperature will now be around 8 Celsius. It’s a good idea to start thinking about some form of heating in your home.
December sees the end of Autumn and the beginning of winter. The temperatures drops further to between 10 – 12 Celsius during the day. The evenings will now be particularly cold. The average temperatures of around 7 Celsius. December will also have more rainy days than November. The precipitation levels tend to be much lower than the previous month.

The homes in this part of Spain are ideal for the heat but no so good for cold weather. You will definitely need some heating during this month.

The summer weather in Cabo Roig is very hot. Especially in the hotter months of June, July and August. The temperature will exceed 30 Celsius most of the time. May is the start of the tourist season when temperatures are beginning to creep up.
The summer tends to end in September when the temperatures begin to cool. There is still plenty of good weather to be had well into October and November. The nights will begin to feel much cooler during November.
May is the start of the tourism season in Cabo Roig. The temperature is now increasing as we head towards summer. Already the temperature is between 20 – 25 Celsius most days. This can exceed 30 Celsius towards the end of the month.
There is still quite a bit of rainfall around in early May but not as much as April. The hours of sunshine are also increasing along with the activity on the beaches here.
The weather in Cabo Roig is June is excellent for the entire month. The temperature is already between 25 – 27 Celsius on average. It’s common to have plenty of days that are over 30 Celsius.
The tourist season is now in full flow and the beaches will be busy more often than not. June still has the odd day of rain here and there but not a significant amount. This rain is also appreciated as it’s likely to remain dry for the next few months.
Weather in Cabo Roig in July
The weather in July is hot as one might expect as we enter the height of summer around the middle of the month. Average temperatures in July are between 28 – 32 Celsius. Towards the end of the month there will be plenty of days that hit the mid thirties.
There is no rainfall in July to speak of. The sea breeze coming from the Mediterranean Sea is most welcome around this time. It’s a good idea to make sure you have some sort of air conditioning to get through July and August. The nigh time temperature will remain in the late twenties. This will make sleeping particularly difficult with no form of air conditioning.
August, like most of the Costa Blanca is the hottest month. The temperature will now exceed 30 Celsius most days. There is little rainfall in August if any.
The temperature can exceed 40 Celsius a few days out of the month. The end of August sees the end of the summer months but the hot weather will continue well into September.
September is the start of autumn in Cabo Roig. The temperature will still exceed 30 Celsius at the beginning of the month. This will begin to cool towards the end of September. It’s still common to experience temperatures in the mid thirties on several days of the month. There will be more rainfall as the temperature begins to cool.
