Cabo Roig is a leading beach-side resort located on the popular Orihuela Costa. This Spanish Costa is the Costa Blanca on the eastern coastline. Cabo Roig lies between the beautiful towns of La Zenia to the north and Dehesa de Campoamor to the south. Both of these locations are popular with tourists and expats alike.
This areas boast fantastic beaches, golf courses, the super strip. The super weather here yields some 320 days of sunshine per year. This suburb also only 15 minutes drive from the city of Torrevieja.
Cabo Roig Attractions & Things to do
There are a few beaches and coves to choose from here. The most popular being Cala Capitan and Cala Caleta. These beaches have received the Blue Flag for cleanliness and general safety.
Cala Caleta in particular has some interesting walking trails. The cliff walk that takes you to La Zenia is well worth checking out.
Cabo Roig Strip & Nightlife
Cabo Roig strip is full of fantastic bars, restaurants, shops and other amenities. The nightlife in Cabo Roig is vibrant thanks to the many bars, restaurants and night clubs here. This is the busiest part of the Orihuela Costa during summer. During the day there are plenty of things to do for the whole family.
St Patrick’s Day, Cabo Roig Strip
The strip is also the main spot for the St Patrick’s day celebrations.
The whole of Cabo Roig turns green as people come from miles away to celebrate. The Irish contingent here put on a super show with well planned entertainment.
The fantastic Marina has become one of of the top locations on the Costa Blanca in which to moor your boats. There are currently some 200 mooring spots in the Marina, overlooked by the old guard tower. This area also has many restaurants to enjoy
Beaches of Cabo Roig
The excellent beaches here are Playa Cala Capitan and Playa Cala Caleta. All are clean and safe for children. This area lies close to more beaches including Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Campoamor.
The beaches found in this area have all the amenities one would expect. These include sun loungers and shades, showers, WC’s, beach volleyball nets. There beach bars serve all types of beverages including cocktails, sangria and snacks.
The popular Cabo Roig Strip is a short walk from the beaches. This is where most of the bars, restaurants and nightlife is.
Why not work up an appetite exploring the well known cliff walk which runs from Cala Caleta beach to La Zenia beach. The walk offers some picturesque views of the sea and coastline and there are some interesting coves to discover along the way.
