Cabo Roig is a leading beach-side resort located on the popular Orihuela Costa. This coastal area is part of the Costa Blanca on the eastern coastline of Spain. Cabo Roig lies between the beautiful towns of La Zenia to the north and Dehesa de Campoamor to the south. Both of these locations are popular with tourists and expats alike.
Among the top attractions here are some fantastic beaches, several golf courses nearby and the lively strip. The super weather here yields some 320 days of sunshine per year. This are is only a 15 minute drive from the city of Torrevieja which lies to the north.
Cabo Roig Attractions & Things to do
There are a few beaches and coves to choose from here. The most popular being Cala Capitan and Cala Caleta. These beaches often receive the Blue Flag for cleanliness and general safety.
Cala Caleta in particular has some interesting walking trails. The cliff walk that takes you to La Zenia is well worth checking out.
Cabo Roig Strip & Nightlife
Cabo Roig strip is full of fantastic bars, restaurants, shops and other amenities. The nightlife in Cabo Roig is vibrant thanks to the many bars, restaurants and night clubs here. This is the busiest part of the Orihuela Costa during summer. During the day there are plenty of things to do for the whole family.
St Patrick’s Day, Cabo Roig Strip
The strip is also the main spot for the St Patrick’s day celebrations.
The whole of Cabo Roig turns green as people come from miles away to celebrate. The Irish contingent here put on a super show with well planned entertainment.
The fantastic Marina has become one of of the top locations on the Costa Blanca in which to moor your boats. There are currently some 200 mooring spots in the Marina, overlooked by the old guard tower. This area also has many restaurants to enjoy
Beaches of Cabo Roig
Among the popular beaches and coves here are Playa Cala Capitan and Playa Cala Caleta. Every beach area along this strip of coastline are well maintained and safe for children. If you are looking for more beach action then Playa Flamenca, La Zenia and Campoamor are all nearby.
The beaches found in this area have all the amenities one would expect. These include sun loungers, parasols, showers, WC’s, and beach volleyball nets. The beach bars serve all types of beverages including cocktails, sangria and snacks.
The popular Cabo Roig Strip is a short walk from the beaches. This is where most of the bars, restaurants and nightlife is.
Why not work up an appetite exploring the well known cliff walk which runs from Cala Caleta beach to La Zenia beach. The walk offers some picturesque views of the sea and coastline with some interesting coves to discover along the way.
St Patrick’s Day, Cabo Roig

Within a 15 minute drive of Cabo Roig beach there are 4 golf courses to choose from. The Real Club de Golf Campoamor, Las Colinas Golf Club, Club de Golf Las Ramblas and Villamartin Golf Club. All golf course here are 18 holes of a high standard.
Within a 5 minute drive is the huge La Zenia Boulevard. This super centre has over 150 shops, bars, restaurants and boutiques. In the evening why not try your luck at the Mediterraneo Casino, also located in the boulevard.
